Toni Onley (1928 – 2004) was an English-born Canadian painter widely known for his landscapes and abstract works. Following studies in his native Britain, he settled in Brantford Ontario, where he studied at the Doon School of Fine Art under acclaimed Canadian painter Carl Schaefer. Among his works are many watercolours depicting the landscape of northern Canada. Icebergs, trees, water, and coastlines all feature prominently in his work. Onley was a member of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts, and was made an Officer of the Order of Canada in 1999. His work is represented in numerous public collections including Museum London, the Vancouver Art Gallery, and the Art Gallery of Ontario among others.
